When I was offered the opportunity to write for Splits59’s blog, I was SO excited! I had always thought about starting my own blog…but found I had a hard time sitting down every day or so to write. So it got me thinking about all the different blogs I appreciate. Here is a list of some of my FAVORITE blogs out there. I won’t lie, most are about food, but they’re all amazing and put together by amazingly passionate people. Get readin’!
This blog was created by a wonderful woman I went to elementary school with! Lisa Thiele is a gluten-free entertainer, has some amazing ideas for food, life, style, etc. I enjoy all of her stories, photos and advice on life, love, friendships and yes, cooking!
This is a fairly new blog talking all things health. My beautiful former roommate, Katie Horwitch, is one of the lead writers! I get great ideas about exercise, health and food. Stories range from DIY hair conditioners to inside looks at CO-OPs to how to live a more positive life-style – one of my favorite new articles is called: Empower Point: Self Love In The Age of YOLO.
I used to live in Paris, so I LOVE reading about David Lebovitz’s adventures in the amazing city of lights. His recipes are incredible and I get to vicariously enjoy a city so close to my heart through his wonderful pictures.
Sooo...I would easily consider this food porn. Whether you cook or not, whether you follow a strict diet or not, Jessica Merchant’s pictures are AMAZING to just look at. I used to work in kitchens and I appreciate her understanding of the art form of plating food.
More food porn...and truly amazing recipes, curtsey of Deb Perelman. She offers a great breakdown of cooking and/or baking steps if you actually plan on re-creating what you see in the photos.
This is a wonderful resource for all those interested in rehabilitation! Kelly Starrett posts videos concerning all sorts of body function issues. He’s an intense dude, so get ready for a little pain – but it works!!!
Ok ladies, I know Lauren Conrad has been on some very silly shows...but this is actually a great blog full of beauty tips and new ideas! I’ve learned how to fishtail braid my hair, do cat-eye liner, figure out the best make-up colors for my skin-tone and even learn to paint heart shapes on my nails!
Looking at street-style is a guilty pleasure of mine. Scott Schuman is one fantastic photographer with the eye for very good fashion. He travels the world and shares photos of people on the streets and models and goers of Fashion Week. He occasionally shares old photos of either fashionable family or stylish strangers. A great way to “waste” some time and get some good fashion ideas. ;)
