- It hydrates and balances the PH of the body
- It's a superfood filled with vitamins, antioxidants, amino acids and enzymes
- It's an anti-viral that works to remove toxins from the body
- It has the same level of electrolytes and minerals as found in human blood. In fact, in case of emergency it can be used as an IV drip.
I could go on and on, but let's talk smoothies. Here is one of my recipes using coconut water: 1 - 2 cups coconut water 1/2 cups spinach (a handful or two) 2 - 3 pieces of kale (without vine) 1/2 mango (or to taste) 1/4 pineapple (also to taste) 1/4 inch of ginger again to taste (optional, but I like a lot) Blend in a blender with ice or you can freeze the fruit if you have a good blender that can break it down. Tips: If you are new to greens in your smoothie you might want to add more fruit (or stevia, if you are worried about too much sugar). Also, I open a fresh young thai coconut, but you can buy the coconut water prepackaged at the health food store if you lack ninja skills. :)
Yum, yum, yummy
XOXO (Yes I watch Gossip Girl and I love that too)
