Eliminate The Rush (Save Being Fast For A Workout)

It's here, yup that very special time of year, OY JOY! Are you too busy to even read every word or this? Are you quickly headed to the market to grab one last item or is it a gift you must give? Hey, SLOW DOWN! Yes, you, in the car, in the store, where ever you are heading, do you really need to be that speedy? Here is a simple, and very effective, breathing technique for resetting the mind and recognizing you have plenty of time.

Step 1: Place all fingertips together, leave space at the palms.

Step 2: Put thumb close to the center of your chest, right by sternum.

Step 3: Point index finger to the sky.

Step 4: Gaze to index finger

Step 5: INHALE counting inside to 5.

Step 6: Pause and retain the breath for a count of 5, be relaxed.

Step 7: EXHALE for a count of 5.

Then begin again. Do this for 3 minutes, longer if time permits and as you practice more. It just takes a moment of conscious presence to realize there is value in slowing down. Hopefully, you feel calmer, clearer and recognize the power in the pause. And hey, if you are going to haul your booty to do whatever task needs to get done, be mindful.
