Fitness Tip // Get Outside!

Summer is here! The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and the weather is warm.  Open the windows, step outside, and soak up a little sun. Challenge yourself this week to take your workout outside.
  1. If you regularly do Pilates or yoga inside a studio - take your mat outside! Find a beautiful spot in a park, by the beach, or even your backyard. Put your mat down and enjoy your practice in the sunshine.
  2. Hop off the treadmill or elliptical and go for run outside. So many parks have jogging trails. Pick one you haven't been to and enjoy the new scenery while you exercise. Maybe this new spot has hills - spice up your run with a few hill climbs or sit ups on an incline!
  3. Add some excitement to your regular workout routine by trying something new - kayaking, SUP (stand up paddle boarding), hiking, biking, or outdoor rock climbing. Both your body and mind will appreciate the new challenge.
  4. Release you inner child!  If you have kids -get outside with them and throw a frisbee, have a  hula hoop contest, play hopscotch, or practice your dribbling skills on the basketball court. Learn a new sport together as a family and just have fun!
