This Thanksgiving, instead of going home to celebrate the holiday with my family my family came to me. My tiny New York City apartment housed 5 happy family members and it was a terrific cozy holiday. Confession time, we did not use light recipes this Thanksgiving, and we did not make an effort to cut any calories! We treated ourselves to a delicious traditional Thanksgiving feast, which included all of our favorite dishes that were packed with tasty hearty ingredients. Calories add up, and it’s easy when you treat yourself to such a feast to pack on the pounds, but what we did to combat this was to make an effort to fit our workouts in! All it takes to keep yourself on track over the holidays is a will to make it happen. Whether it’s by opting for lighter recipes of your holiday favorites or committing to a workout routine that will work for you, maintaining your weight is possible this time of year.
My family and I scheduled workouts into our weekend that fit into our schedule, such as burning off extra calories at the gym, at physique 57, and by taking especially long brisk walks with my dog Ruby. The best part about our workouts is that we can all do them together. Instead of taking away from family time we found a creative way to spend time together and take care of our bodies. Find something that works for you and your family and have a happy holiday!
