My New Year's Resolution...Taking It Slow

As a brand new mom of a 9 week old I'm on a mission to get more than 4 hours of consecutive sleep in the night and lose about 15 lbs of baby weight. How will I do this as a tired new mom? I remind myself to start slow. . At week 4 with my doctor's clearance I began doing Pure Barre classes and doing brisk walking 2-3 times a week and slowly but surely cranking it up to 4 and 5 times a week. I put on this weight over the course of 9 months so I shouldn't expect to lose it in only 2 months. Be kind to yourself. Whether you've put on weight on from indulging in extra holiday treats or from carrying a baby around for 9 months remind yourself that patience and perseverance is what will ultimately get you back into your skinny jeans. Feeling like you're facing an insurmountable challenge? Buddy up with a friend or co-worker. The likelihood of "flaking out" on an exercise class or a brisk walk rapidly decreases when you're meeting up with someone to burn calories!
