Art Of The Compliment: Giving & Receiving

Art Of The Compliment: Giving & Receiving

My new shipment of Splits 59 arrived yesterday. I was so excited!! I spent all last night dreaming of what I was going to wear first. I ended up in the Sprint tank because the spectacular shade of purple was just what I needed on this dreary summer day. When I got to work I started receiving some compliments. I got them on how beautiful the top is, and how it looked great on me. Instead of graciously saying thank you, I found myself saying things like “really?”, and laughing as someone gave me the ultimate compliment which was “you look sexy”. I do this a lot. When someone compliments me I can’t just say thank you…it comes with a caveat. I work on confidence often with my daughter. She is 3 ½ years old and not only receives compliments with grace, but gives them with enthusiasm. To her the best compliment she can give you is “you look like a princess” much to the chagrin of her daddy when she compliments him. She receives her compliments with honesty and enthusiasm…never arrogance.  (Quick side note: Since she is an only child, she gets about 500 compliments/day and, will probably never suffer from low self esteem).  I strive to be more like her. I love giving compliments. It’s my job to make women feel great about them selves. I have no problems telling my friends, family and students how amazing they are inside and out. I love to build up confidence and see women grow into their own glory. So now I will work on receiving compliments with the grace and joy that my daughter is teaching me to do.

Oh, and thank you!!!
